Qualified designer Susanne Uerlings (nee Maier) is the creative brain behind Produktsalon. After graduating in 2006 from the University of Applied Sciences in Coburg as a qualified designer (FH) for Integrated Product Design, she worked as an industrial designer for international clients of a prestigious German design office for nearly five years. 
Since 2011 she has been making different design products such as furniture, lighting, home and kitchen accessories for her own firm in Aachen, Germany. Susanne Uerlings believes efficient design means design of target group-based, stylish and functional products. Produktsalon designs products with easy instructions and a high emotional value. For XLBoom she designed Gemma.
