The Gusto Collection by Alain Gilles for XLBoom is inspired by the visual idea of melting ice. Each piece features a mouth-blown glass cup that appears to rest on a soft, organically shaped base, as if formed by molten glass.
The contrast between the smooth, refined cup and the raw, irregular base creates a subtle tension in the design. Shaped and finished by hand, each piece is fused into one solid form, resulting in subtle variations in shape and texture. This ensures that no two pieces are ever exactly the same, making every item truly unique.

We gingen de samenwerking aan met in 2012 bekroonde Designer van het jaar Alain Gilles. Design als een tweede leven. Na zijn studies Politieke Wetenschappen en Marketing Management ging Alain Gilles aan de slag in de financiële wereld. Maar een mens moet zijn eigen leven leiden. Met de morele steun van zijn vrouw beslist hij opnieuw te gaan studeren, deze keer industrieel design in Frankrijk.
